Esta camiseta rinde homenaje a la selección de la República Democrática Alemana en sus últimos años de existencia, entre 1988 y 1990, cuando el fútbol aún representaba a un país que estaba a punto de desaparecer. Un equipo competitivo, físico y disciplinado, construido lejos del foco occidental y con una identidad propia, marcada por el sistema y la formación colectiva.
Fue la DDR de Matthias Sammer, Andreas Thom, Ulf Kirsten y Thomas Doll, una generación que vivió el final de una selección y el inicio de otra historia tras la reunificación. Una camiseta que no simboliza títulos, sino el último latido de un fútbol que dejó de existir, pero que aún hoy sigue siendo recordado.
