Esta camiseta rinde homenaje a la Euskal Selekzioa de 1997, una etapa en la que la selección vasca volvió a vestirse para disputar partidos amistosos con identidad propia. El verde, el rojo y el blanco, junto a Astore y el escudo de Euskadi en el pecho, representaban algo más que fútbol: representaban pertenencia.
Fue la Euskal Selekzioa de jugadores como Julen Guerrero, Joseba Etxeberria, Rafa Alkorta o Aitor Karanka, nombres consolidados en la élite que se reunían para jugar sin título en juego, solo por representar a su tierra.
